With the likes of Yusuke, Hiei, Kurama, and Kuwabara all enjoying a compelling dynamism with each other, Yo Yo Hakusho It managed to become one of the biggest Shonen series ever, although this can also be attributed to some of the biggest fights in anime history. Since all spirit detectives have their own unique abilities and have to engage in life-or-death battles with demonic entities on a regular basis, said Sho Tsukikawa, director of live-action adaptation at Netflix, when it comes to the franchise’s appeal as well as the action of the series.
Speaking with IGN, Tsukikawa detailed how it was originally blown away because a live-action adaptation was taking place, while also taking the opportunity to delve deeper into the allure of the Soul Detectives story:
When I first heard about Yo Yo Hakusho Having a live adaptation, I honestly wondered if it was even possible – but after introducing the product’s vision and possibilities with Netflix, my expectations grew and I found myself burning with passion to make this project come to life. More than anything, I think Yu Yu Hakusho’s allure comes from her characters, which is why I wanted to highlight Yu Yu Hakusho’s attractive relationships and battles,”
When discussing his upcoming adaptation further, Sho also praised the visual effects that will be used in the upcoming live-action adaptation, going so far as to say that “the work will speak for itself”:
“The visual effects we use are very advanced, using the latest technology, aiming to get the best quality we can. Finally, right from the start, we have been very knowledgeable about creating a series for a global audience. Just as when I first heard about this adaptation, it might be There are people who feel that it is an impossible task, but no matter how many ways I express how I feel, I believe the work will speak for itself and prove that it is possible. I will continue to pour my heart and soul into the project of bringing the best entertainment from Japan to the world.”
